We waited what seemed like forever for this young man… I always enjoyed showing the boys and with Toby approaching veteran & Harvey prone to slamming on the brakes part way through moving I had for some years planned to retain a dog from this litter when it eventually happened.
The whole litter was unbelievably even but what set Finn apart from his brothers was his character – he hardly ever slept and was always looking for something new to get up to – you can see from the picture taken at 11 weeks just how much of a show-off he was right from the off and thankfully unlike his grandfather Harvey he absolutely adores showing.
Finn had a phenomenal start to showing winning BP at Midland Counties qualifying him for the following year’s Crufts & The Weimaraner Association Weimaraner of the year competition – he went on to win Best Puppy awards at both early in 2006.
From there the year went from strength to strength. With him winning 1 CC & 2 RCCs as a junior and then winning 2 straight CC’s from his 1st 2 limit classes earning him his title at just 18.months.
In all Finn won 17 classes at championship level in 2006, his JW at under a year, his SH CH title at 18 months, BP at Crufts, WA Puppy of the year and managed to squeeze in siring his 1 st litter to Trish Grime’s Ansona Gamefair. From this litter came our own Ansona Vanity Fair at Sharnphilly already a RCC winner & Jane Buckley’s Ansona Craft Fair at Yvika who has qualified for his JW.
Finn needed time to mature in 2007 but made the occasional appearance including at Bournemouth where he won the DCC, BOB & Gundog group 3 under breed specialist Gordon Haran & Group judge Frank Kane. He also found time to sire the occasional litter some of which will be seen in the ring in 2008
